Frequently Asked Questions

Booking

I've not done much hiking, can I still join?

Yes!  This walk is through country lanes and paths, with some muddy parts depending on the weather.  You don’t need to be an accomplished hiker, you just need to be comfortable walking about 10 miles in one day.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely, this is a friendly and open atmosphere where all are welcome.

How much yoga experience do I need?

The yoga is suitable for total beginners as well as those with experience.  The morning/indoor session will be a flowing class, which can be catered to different levels.  If you have any concerns drop us an email

Can I drive or come by public transport?

By train: From Chichester station (£22 return from London Victoria) take the 52 or 53 bus towards West Wittering.  There’s a bus stop right outside our meeting point.

By car: There is street parking nearby or you can park in the West Wittering beach carpark, where our day will end.

More information will be provided in your booking confirmation email.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes for walking and yoga – leggings are great, if it’s cold you might want to double up or pair with some hiking trousers/track bottoms.  Walking boots are recommended but sturdy trainers are fine too.  Layers are always the best option for being able to add/subtract as needed.  And we always recommend a dry pair of socks and different shoes for the journey home.

Event Day

When and where will we meet?

Full details will be given in the booking confirmation.  Our start and end points are easily accessible by public transport and nearby to ample parking.

Can I travel with others?

Yes, we are happy to help facilitate car shares and group saver train tickets.  Once you book, you’ll be invited to join a private WhatsApp group to help arrange travel.

What happens if it rains?

This is an all-weather event, so we will walk in the rain!  Be prepared with waterproofs and come enjoy the beauty of all-weather walking. By the coast, it’s rare that rain lasts for a full day. Intermittent showers are much more likely.

If the weather conditions are unsafe, we will notify you as soon as possible to rearrange your retreat date.

I never received a confirmation email.

Please check your spam mail in the first instance.  If you still haven’t received an email please get in touch on email including the email address with which you booked.

What if the forecast isn't good?

We closely monitor the weather before any of our events.  In the unlikely event that the weather proves unsafe for our retreat day, we will be in touch to rearrange a date.  In the meantime, sit back and relax and look forward to your day out in nature.

My train is late/I'm running late!

Please contact the retreat WhatsApp group from your confirmation email. If you’re traveling on the recommended train time, you’re likely to be with others in the group.  If you’re driving, we will try to accommodate or make arrangements for you to join us along the route.
