About us

Hello,

My name is Jennifer.  I’ve been teaching yoga since 2011 and recently qualified as a Pilates teacher too.

I have a confession… I hated yoga when I first tried it.  In fact, I walked out of my first class convinced it wasn’t right for me.  It wasn’t until many years later when I was undertaking a challenge to complete an A to Z of sport, that I tried yoga again.  It’s a good thing it was towards the end of the alphabet as this time something clicked, and I was hooked.

Since then, I’ve completed many additional trainings and specialisations including Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Meditation teacher training, Aerial Yoga and Paddleboard yoga.  I’ve run retreats in England, Wales, Morocco, France and Italy and I’ve taught at many festivals too.

I have always loved the outdoors and in 2012 I started organising outdoor yoga, including Yoga & Hiking days and Yoga & Paddleboarding (including paddleboard yoga, of course).  The demand for yoga and paddleboarding grew so much that I ended up starting Paddleboarding London in 2018.

After years of paddling the canals of London and teaching at the beautiful St Katharine Docks Marina, in 2023 I relocated to West Wittering, which is the perfect location for any outdoor lover.  In addition to teaching classes in West Wittering and Bracklesham, I also teach at Goodwood Health Club and Nuffield in Chichester.

Why Yoga to Feel Good?

My aim for each class is to ensure that every student walks out feeling good – both physically and mentally.  That means:

Showing up on the mat and doing the best you can on that particular day.

Accepting that it’s not always going to be 100%

Understanding that everybody (and every body) is different

Avoiding comparison – of your neighbour on the mat next to you or what you may or may not have been able to do the week before

Being open to trying – not just a need to achieve

Never losing your sense of humour

If this sounds like your kind of yoga then please join one of our classes.

The very heart of yoga practice is ‘abyhasa’ steady effort in the direction you want to go. ― Sally Kempton

Frequently asked questions

What type of yoga do you teach?

I teach a variety of styles of yoga including Hatha, Flow, Yin and Yoga Nidra.  These styles are used to create classes like ‘Relaxing Yoga’ or ‘Gentle Yoga’ to make them more accessible for those new to yoga.

What's the best class for beginners?

I would recommend starting with a Gentle Yoga class first, which will teach you many postures that are used in other types of classes.

What's the difference between yoga and Pilates?

The easiest way I can explain it is that Pilates is a work out and yoga is a work-in.  Pilates is a fitness based class that offers excellent benefits including building a strong core and improving posture.  Yoga is a more stretching based class, with an emphasis on breathing and awareness.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in easily.  Leggings or joggers are great but make sure they’re not too lose and have a good elastic waist or drawstring.  T-shirts work well, try to avoid once that are too lose or wear a tucked in vest top underneath.

Do I need to bring anything?

Please bring a mat, any yoga props (if you have them) and a bottle of water.

Will there be chanting and stuff?

I don’t include chanting in my classes but I do include breath work, meditation.

Do I need to be fit to do yoga or Pilates?

The only requirement is to show up! You don’t need any particular level of fitness and you will be invited to take things at your own pace.
