Course Details
This 6-hour qualification equips learners with the essential knowledge and skills to recognise a wide range of mental health conditions. It focuses on how to begin supportive, effective conversations and when—and how—to signpost individuals to appropriate professional support.
Learners will develop an understanding of how to recognise and manage stress, explore the impact of substance misuse, and gain practical insight into the mental health first aid action plan. The course also supports learners in applying this action plan confidently and fostering a positive mental health culture within the workplace.
While this qualification does not train learners to diagnose or treat mental health conditions—tasks reserved for qualified healthcare professionals—it does provide the knowledge needed to identify when someone may be experiencing a mental health issue and to guide them towards the right sources of help and support.
